Credit Hound Cloud, Draycir's credit control application, connects to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central through an extension installed from Microsoft Marketplace (formerly AppSource). This article is for the Business Central partner or administrator who installs it. Installation takes a few minutes and needs no configuration afterwards.
Before you install
One installation per environment
Install the extension in each environment you want to connect, sandbox or Production. An installation in one environment does not carry over to another.
You need permission to manage extensions in the target environment (the D365 EXTENSION MGT permission set, or SUPER)
Install the extension in each environment you want to connect. If the customer will connect their Production environment, install it in Production; a sandbox installation does not carry across
The extension is available for Business Central online only. Business Central on-premises is not supported
A separate one-off approval by a Microsoft 365 administrator is also needed before Credit Hound Cloud can connect. If you hold that role in the customer's organisation, do it in the same session: see Approving Credit Hound Cloud for your organisation.
Install from the Microsoft Marketplace website
Go to the Credit Hound Cloud listing on Microsoft Marketplace.
Select Free trial and sign in with your Business Central account
Choose the environment to install into and accept Microsoft's terms
Business Central opens the Extension Installation page. Select Install
Install from inside Business Central
In Business Central, search for Extension Management and open it
Select AppSource Gallery. The Microsoft AppSource Apps page opens
Search for Credit Hound Cloud, select it, and select Install
Select Install again on the Extension Installation page
Either route installs the same extension. To confirm it is installed, search for Extension Management; Credit Hound Cloud by Draycir appears in the list as Installed.
What the installation does
The extension registers Credit Hound Cloud with Business Central so that it can read data once the Microsoft 365 administrator has approved it. Specifically, it:
Adds an entry named Credit Hound Cloud under Microsoft Entra Applications, enabled, with a read-only permission set assigned
Publishes the API pages Credit Hound Cloud reads from
Next step
If you are a Microsoft 365 administrator for this organisation, open the Credit Hound Cloud entry under Microsoft Entra Applications and select Grant Consent, or use the approval link. Otherwise, pass the approval link to someone who is. See Approving Credit Hound Cloud for your organisation.
The customer can then connect from Credit Hound Cloud: see Connecting to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
Troubleshooting
I can't find Credit Hound Cloud on the Microsoft AppSource Apps page. Check the environment's country or region is one the listing is available in, and that the environment is Business Central online, not on-premises.
I installed it in a sandbox and it is not in Production. Extensions are installed per environment. Install it again in Production from Microsoft Marketplace or the Microsoft AppSource Apps page.
The Microsoft Entra Applications entry shows Permission Granted unticked. That field is only set when consent is granted from inside Business Central. If the administrator approved through the Credit Hound Cloud link instead, the field stays blank and the connection works normally.
We’ve stopped using Credit Hound Cloud. What do we remove? Remove the company in Credit Hound Cloud first, then uninstall the extension from Extension Management. The Credit Hound Cloud entry under Microsoft Entra Applications is left behind; you can delete it once the extension is uninstalled. Don’t delete it while Credit Hound Cloud is still in use - it holds the application user Credit Hound Cloud connects as, and deleting it stops synchronisation.
