Question: I've noticed that when I change the currency selection using the drop-down menu in the Customer Screen, the Credit Limit widget doesn't change. Why is that?
Answer: The Credit Limit widget is designed to show a consistent value sourced directly from the Accounting System, ensuring there's a single point of truth for the Credit Limit. Here's a breakdown of its behavior:
- Consistency over currencies: The Credit Limit is displayed in the currency reported by the Accounting System, and it remains constant regardless of the currency selected in the drop-down menu. This ensures clarity and avoids potential confusion from currency conversions.
- Why no conversion? We've intentionally avoided converting the Credit Limit into other currencies. The reason is simple: we rely on the Accounting system to provide accurate values, and it has not provided converted values for the Credit Limit. It's also possible that a converted value might not accurately represent the actual credit risk or the intended limit set by you.
- What value is being displayed? If your Accounting System provides a specific Credit Limit for the customer account, that value will be displayed. If it reports a single Base Currency Credit Limit, then that Base Credit Limit will be shown.
The goal here is to ensure you always see an accurate, reliable, and consistent Credit Limit value without any ambiguity.
